Hi Poppy,
Sounds like you are a bit down, and I don't blame you , its horrible when you are given hope and then drugs don't work, I also failed on Humira and Enbrel and had such high hopes for them, but just to give you some hope I had a round of Rituximab and althoug it didn't give the complete results I'd hoped for and took some while to kick in it did improve things a little. The consultant said that often a second round of it six months later helps so I had another round six months ago, that kicked in quicker and I then had 3 whole months without a flare and could do things that made life much more pleasant like going out with firends, a bit of decorating, managed all my own Christmas shopping etc, quite a feat for me. Over the past few weeks though I've been total cr** with another flare so had both knees drained yesterday and steriod injections and an increase in the prednisolone. Good news is I've been booked in for a third round hopefully in the next few weeks and consultant seems to think repeated doses of the Rituximab will help.
So just to say there is hope, maybe the Rituximab might be brilliant first time round for you, and if not a second round is possible. The wretched nuscience is the time it takes to tell what work and what doesn't and the worry over damage being done, especially when you are young (I'm fifteen years older than you but have only had RA 3 and a bit years.
Fingers crossed that it will work for you and hope you can have a good weekend.
Love
Sheila
